Fit4Future: A key transnational milestone in Aveiro

On 23 October 2025, the University of Aveiro welcomed partners from across Europe for the second transnational meeting of the Fit4Future project. The working day was all about one thing: making sure the project delivers real, useful benefits for people working and learning in VET.

Partners shared what they have learned so far from interviews, case studies, and good practices collected in different countries. These stories come straight from VET organisations and trainers, reflecting everyday challenges such as unconscious bias, inclusion in the classroom, leadership styles, and how organisations deal with change. By comparing experiences across countries,we were able to spot common patterns and practical solutions that really work on the ground.

One of the most important outcomes is the Fit4Future self-assessment tool. This tool is being designed to help VET organisations take an honest look at themselves: What are we already doing well when it comes to inclusion? Where are the gaps? And what can we improve? Instead of offering abstract theory, the tool will guide organisations step by step, helping them turn reflection into concrete action.

All of this work will also feed into FITLAB, a new European online space that will bring together inspiring examples, methods, and tools around inclusion, systems thinking, and regenerative leadership. For trainers, managers, and project leaders, FITLAB will be a practical source of ideas they can adapt to their own context, without starting from scratch.

The meeting wasn’t just about research. Partners also worked hands-on on what comes next: preparing the first international webinar on systems thinking, shaping the future regenerative leadership training, and setting the direction for a European anti-bias campaign. These activities aim to reach a wide audience and spark conversations that lead to real change in attitudes and everyday practices.

By bringing together different perspectives, experiences, and cultures, Fit4Future continues to move forward with a clear goal: helping VET organisations become more inclusive, fair, and future-ready — in ways that truly matter to people on the ground.
